Webinar: Preview the new Client Accounts

Webinar: Preview the updates to Client Accounts

Narrator:

Hello, everyone, and welcome to today’s webinar, where we will be previewing new features of the Client Accounts section of our website. We appreciate you taking the time to join us and thank you for your continuous support of Capital Group. My name is Monica Ganoe. I will be one of your facilitators. I’m a manager in our San Antonio office, and with me is Drew, my co-facilitator, who will take a moment to introduce himself.

Hello, everybody, my name is Drew Esser. I’m a client experience analyst here at Capital Group, and I am based in the Irvine, California, office.

Thank you, Drew. If you are here with us today, it’s likely because you have heard that, yes, we are making updates to our website. We understand that your technology needs continue to evolve, and we are committed to evolving with you. That’s why we’re excited to share some of those upcoming changes. During this webinar, you will get a preview of the improved design, intuitive navigation and enhanced functionality of the Client Accounts section. We will share with you what steps you can take now to prepare for those updates and, lastly, guide you to where you can find additional information and resources. With that, Drew, why don’t you get us started?

All right, folks, quick disclaimer here. Just so you’re aware, we’ll be using a test environment to preview the new Client Accounts for you today. So that means all client and account information is for illustrative purposes only. That being said, let’s dive in.

So here is a preview of the new Client Accounts dashboard. You’ll immediately notice the updated design. Now, to save us some time, we’ve already logged ourselves in as an advisor, so after logging in, this is what you will see. The dashboard is far more personalized. It’s going to be a lot easier to stay updated on client activity. And quick mention here, there’s a nice little Tour button that will walk you through some of the new features on this page. It’s a simple but great tool if you’re looking for a short step-by-step introduction. But for today’s webinar, I’m going to personally walk you through the features of this new dashboard.

So, first off, let’s take a look at Client alerts. Client alerts provides information and reminders specific to your clients’ accounts, including completed transactions, changes to automatic plans and the status on incoming transfers. You’ll also get an alert when a client’s addresses change, and here’s a favorite: you’ll get an alert after applications are processed, providing you with the new account number. So no more digging for that information, as you may have experienced in the past, calling in or whatnot. From now on, that information will be coming straight to you. In addition to getting these alerts on your dashboard, financial professionals can sign up to receive weekly or daily email summaries, and you can sign up to receive those email alerts right from your profile page. Now, in the top right, you’ll see you can easily search for a client as you do today by either name, account number or BIN. And big mention here, you’ll also continue to have access to your clients’ accounts even if mail is returned or in the unfortunate event of their passing. Prior to this update, you likely experienced that when there was returned mail or a client had passed away, access was restricted or otherwise limited. That will no longer be the case. Now, moving on to News and updates. News and updates, which are both based on your book of business, provide information and resources to help you quickly manage your business needs. These include reminders like approaching RMD and tax-filing deadlines, as well as links to timely content, like resources to assist clients with 529 distributions, for example. And a couple more things I wanted to highlight on this new dashboard layout: to the left of the Client Search, I wanted to point out that you can easily toggle between Vision IDs that are linked to your profile. This is a fantastic new feature for assistants who may support multiple advisors and have multiple Vision IDs. And then under the Client Search, you can easily access your Total assets & top clients as well as Recent Top Transactions. So, again, significant improvements to the Client Accounts dashboard. Much cleaner, far more personalized, intuitive tiles that are incredibly easy to navigate and a lot more clarity to enhance your overall experience. Now, let’s take a closer look at the portfolio/account view itself.

Ah, and there’s that Tour button again: just a great tool to guide you through any new features on this page. So we have this fictitious client here, Anna, and her Account Summary pulled up. The total value of her portfolio can be found right at the top in bold. As you can see, she has several accounts here with us. Each account has its own tile displaying its unique account number and registration. You can also see each account’s total assets and individual returns. Now, later this year, we’re also updating the investor website to enhance your clients’ digital experience with us as well. When that happens, your clients will see a similar design and layout when they go to log in to their accounts. Now, the menu on the left provides quick access to information like the client’s profile, where you can view and manage their contact info, for example. You can also find statements and tax forms here, as well as our online submission tool. All right, now let’s talk about transactions.

So we’re making it easy to complete transactions by using these buttons on the right: Invest, Withdraw, Exchange/Rebalance, right there at the ready. The language has been streamlined, and the navigation is much easier. Just a couple clicks is all we’ll take now. You can also access the client’s Automatic Transactions and Transaction History from here. And below is Monica’s personal favorite new addition to the website: a dropdown showing you the details about the funds themselves and how they’ve actually performed over time for your client. Down below this section, you’ll find additional information and resources for the account. These will include charts and information about the account’s performance and the current fund allocations. We’ve also added links to available resources relevant for the investor and their specific account type. So again, wonderful updates coming your way.

For those of you interested in more information about what we’ve discussed so far, on the right of your screen, you’ll see a tab called Docs, D-O-C-S, Docs. Now there we’ve provided links to some of those additional resources that are available to you. Furthermore, the FAQ and the preview video provide additional details and examples of the updated layout. And now I’ll pass the baton back to Monica, as she will share the steps you can take now to prepare for those updates.

Yes, thank you, Drew. I think one word kind of describes this: impressive. I’m excited for it, and I’m sure everyone else will be just as well. But as he mentioned, we want to make sure that you are prepared for when the time comes, so that you can continue business uninterrupted. In the coming months, you’ll be automatically prompted to access the new Client Accounts. At that time, you will link your DST Vision® ID and password to your Capital Ideas Pro™ login. Now, remember, the Capital Ideas Pro login is what provides financial professionals access to exclusive content, including literature, reports, events and more. This means in the future, you won’t need to enter your Vision ID and password each time you log in.

The first step you’ll want to take is to make sure that you are registered for Capital Ideas Pro and that you have a login. One way to know that you have registered, and I’m gonna go ahead and use our fictitious account here, so you can see Scott has his name listed. So, if you see your name here in this area and your button says Log Out, you’ve already registered, step one is done, you are complete there. But if you haven’t registered, I will walk you through those steps.

As you can see, I am at our Advisor website. One way that you can access the registration page is by clicking the dropdown arrow and you’ll select Register for Capital Ideas Pro. The other way is by clicking the blue button up at the top right. As we come to the registration page, you will go ahead and fill out the details that are being asked. Now, assistants, you are highly encouraged to create your own login for a more personalized experience. It allows you to assign that login information for yourself. That way you’re not having to go ask your financial professional, so maybe you need to submit that document online. No, you can easily do it on your own. You’ll follow the same steps. One area to call out that will be just slightly different is going to be the role selection. If you are unsure which role will apply to you, there is going to be this blue icon for information that you can click on. It’ll bring open a menu. It’ll have each role that you can select as well as a description to the right. Assistants, you will use Administrative Staff as your selection. Financial professionals, just depending on your role, you will select either Financial Advisor, Registered Investment Advisor or if you are Dually Registered. Unsure which it will be, we do have that description here to the right to help you. Now, I’m gonna go ahead and select Financial Advisor, and you will notice that this new field appears, which is for a CRD number. This will be the one that is assigned by FINRA. If you’re unsure what that is, there is a link here for you where you can easily get that information and complete your registration. The neat thing is, is that once you’ve completed your registration, you will have immediate access to this website to continue business as needed.

The second step will be to make sure that you know your DST Vision ID and password and that you are enrolled in their 2-step verification through their website. Vision credentials should not be shared, and assistants will need to have their own. For an assistant, it’s referred to as an Affiliate ID. Very easy to request, and it allows the same level of access as the financial professional that they are supporting. It is extremely important that every user of the Client Accounts have their own Capital Ideas Pro login and Vision credentials. For example, if an assistant happens to link their financial professional’s Vision credentials to their own Capital Ideas Pro, it will prevent that financial professional from linking that same Vision ID to their own profile. This is why we are asking everyone to create their own credentials for a more seamless process.

To request an Affiliate ID, the financial professional will need to log in to DST Vision’s website directly. Now, I have a visual to kind of show what that step will look like, but once you sign in, you will see a row of buttons right up here. You will click on the dropdown arrow for Administrative and then select Enroll Affiliate IDs. From here, the advisor will go ahead and select the registration steps, and an email will be sent to the assistant within 1 to 3 business days. What’s neat about this is that, assistants, if you support multiple financial professionals, you can link multiple Affiliate IDs to your Capital Ideas Pro, allowing you to easily navigate between the different clients that you help support.

Now, I know this was quite a bit of information, and we don’t expect you to remember everything. This is why we have created a resource on our website. It is a checklist, and it outlines the same steps that we just covered. And so I will go ahead and give you just a sneak peek of what that looks like. Here’s gonna be the web page. To the right in the Docs tab, we will also be dropping those links for you. But again, it shows here, if you’re a financial professional, what steps you’ll need to take. If you’re an assistant. And then again, common questions down below. There will also be a link for a video. Maybe you prefer to watch the video instead, but either way, we have provided these resources to help support you through this process. But with that, we know that your time is valuable. With that, Drew, let’s go ahead and bring it home.

Thank you, Monica. Ladies and gentlemen, there really have been a lot of improvements made to the website, and all with one central goal in mind, and that is to make it easier for both you and your clients to manage accounts online. So, as we wrap up today’s webinar, we really want to encourage you to complete these 2 steps today for a smooth transition when you’re prompted to access the new Client Accounts. So, step 1, if you haven’t already, create your Capital Ideas Pro login. So, again, this is crucial, if you haven’t already, step number 1 is to create that Capital Ideas Pro login. Now, step 2, make sure you know your Vision credentials and ensure that assistants have an Affiliate Vision ID. Taking care of these steps now will help prevent delays and ensure your access is uninterrupted. And as for resources, to learn more about the exciting enhancements coming to Client Accounts, you can always visit www.capitalgroup.com/webinfo. Again, that’s www.capitalgroup.com/webinfo. You also find a link under the Docs tab to the right of the window. There you’ll find additional information, videos and answers to common questions about the updates. And, of course, if you need any assistance or have additional questions on the information we shared today, you can always give us a call at our standard advisor marketing line. That’s 1-800-421-9900. So again, that’s 800-421-9900. Any of our client service representatives will be more than happy to assist you. We’ll also be emailing you a recording of today’s webinar, so that you can revisit any topics and share them with colleagues who maybe weren’t able to attend today’s webinar.

And that concludes the webinar. Monica and I really appreciate your time. These updates reflect our ongoing commitment to evolve with your investment and technology needs. Stay tuned for additional communications about the upcoming changes to Client Accounts. And if you have some time, please take a moment to complete the survey on the right of your screen to let us know your thoughts on today’s webinar and what you would like to see in future webinars. Thank you again.
